My dearest Leonard,
Well dear I hope that you arrived home safe after leaving me home safe. The eve seems very long tonight in not seeing you dear. But I miss you terrible and I suppose you are yourself, I have been sewing this evening making lamp shades. I love to make those pretty articles.
I was out this afternoon shopping and got several nice things for some of my friends, because I never forget any of them. But as soon as I get finished writing this letter to you, I am going to retire for the night and its almost 10:50.
But my eyes are about to close. I hope dear heart you have written me a letter this evening and hope to see you Tuesday early, and I shall be so glad to see you again sweet love.
I did not go to Lee's because I did not have the heart to go without you dear. So dear I shall come to a close, and trust in the Lord, I shall see you Tuesday.
Good night dear with love. ALICE
