Dear Alice,
Well, dear, I motored to New York this morning and have been shopping most of the day getting ready for the wedding. I have never been in so many shops in all my life. It's "Awful," but whata can you do when one is made headusher.
I wish that you had been along and seen the attention I received in all the stores. It's "horrible" to be so prominent isn't it, dear? You certainly must come to the wedding, because if you don't I will have no interest in it whatsoever, even if it is my sister's wedding.
Tomorrow back I go to Stamford and will be there at five to hear your sweet voice across the wire.
Yours till Thursday, Love, LEONARD.
