Dear Alice,

Just a few lines to let you know that I arrived home safely last night after a long and lovely ride. Believe me I was tired when I reached Stamford at a quarter to three.

Well, dear, I motored to New York this morning and have been shopping most of the day getting ready for the wedding. I have never been in so many shops in all my life. It's "awful," but what can you do when one is made headusher.

I wish that you had been along and seen the attention I received in all the stores. It's "horrible" to be so prominent isn't it, dear? --you certainly must come to the wedding, because if you don't I will have no interest in it whatsoever, even if it is my sister's wedding.

Tomorrow back I go to Stamford and will be there at five to hear your sweet voice across the wire.

Don't forget I will stop for you on Thursday night at 7:30.

I am wondering what you are going to do Wednesday night!

Yours till Thursday, Love,
LEONARD.
