Dearest Alice:
I have just arrived after a cold and lonely ride and am taking a few minutes before I go out shopping o drop you a few lines. By this time, I suppose you have received my telegram which I sent from Stamford before I left this morning.
Did I tell you that yesterday I was asked to go to Princeton and see the Harvard football game, but, of course, I had to refuse, as I would not get back until late and then I would be unable to take you to the dance? honey bunch, you are not going to leave me and go all the way to Hartford! are you dear? of course you are not, because if you did really I wouldn't know what to do. Think of all the good times you and I can have together if you stay. As a matter of fact, we have had some good ones already and we can continue to do so if you do not leave me.
Yours till Saturday night. Love, LEONARD.
