Dear Alice:
I have just arrived in the big city and am writing you this letter to let you know all is well. I hope you got home early enough last night and were not tired out for your trip this morning. How did you enjoy out little ride last evening? to my mind it was short but sweet. How about it, dear? To night I hope you have a very pleasant time, although I cannot tell you how much I will miss not being with you. I wonder if you will think of me just a little tonight being in Stamford "all by myself."
It's "awful," dear, I can't help thinking about tonight. Really I won't know what to do with myself. Yes, dear, it really is "horrible." I think I shall go to bed at seven and have a good long sleep (all by myself).
Love, LEONARD
